WHAT'S INTERESTING ABOUT THIS CONCERT

  • ASO first began combining local musical styles with the traditional sounds of a classical symphony orchestra back in 2005. The first guest artists were Cajun musician Michael Ducet and his group BeauSoleil.
  • Since 2005 guest artists have included, among others, Sonny Landreth, Zachary Richard, Marc Broussard, Terrance Simien and Roddy Romero with the The Hub City All Stars.
  • Many accomplished arrangers have been commissioned to create special orchestrations of the traditional local music of Acadiana. This has resulted in a large library of new, innovative repertoire. We are proud of this unique accomplishment in our organization’s history.
