Experience an unforgettable performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem – a masterpiece that transcends the traditional boundaries of sacred music. This monumental work is Verdi’s deeply personal response to loss, and a stirring tribute to Italian cultural identity, inspired by the deaths of two great national figures: composer Gioachino Rossini and writer Alessandro Manzoni. With its sweeping drama, haunting beauty, and explosive intensity, Requiem will move your soul and ignite your spirit.

This concert is presented in memory of Dr. Winston Riehl, of Lafayette. Dr. Riehl was a longtime supporter of ASO, and those who knew him best were aware of his love for architecture, fine music, fine art, and tennis. A place card in his home reads "architecture is frozen music." His legacy will live on in our hearts, our concerts, and every meticulous note performed on stage.
